Phil & Sabastians Instant Coffee Ad
This project is a team effort project to create a 'Product as Hero' Advertisement for Phil & Sebastian's instant coffee.
Assignment
Utilizing in-studio lighting and still-life photography as a medium, teams of students must create an ad for an assigned product. The ad should be developed as an Out-of-Home (OOH) execution (mostly likely a billboard or transit placement).
The key to this project is that the ad must follow a ‘product-as-hero’ approach.

Rationale
The assigned product is available in P&S cafés or on-line. It comes in packages of four servings and each tube of coffee is recyclable and easy-to-use; with the price-point of this product aiming to get at a market that’s already enjoying craft and specialty coffees this product is quite unique.
Thus for this project, our teams goal is to convince our customers that the words ‘instant coffee’ don’t mean lower quality in exchange for convenience. In a way, we’re attempting to use this perception to our advantage, showing the consumer that this product is different from the rest and still stands for using the highest quality, natural ingredients. The essence of the concept is that time and effort has already gone into this cup of coffee and now it can be enjoyed anywhere without sacrificing on P&S’ core values.
